SESSION TIPS:

  • Make sure you are prepared for any type of weather, especially when choosing your outfits. Fall weather can be unpredictable and mini sessions will go on whether it’s raining or sunny, cold or hot!
  • Clothing: Dress the girls first, in something you all know you look and feel good in. Then dress the guys to coordinate with the girls. You do not have to match exactly. It is a good rule of thumb to all wear the same bottoms (jeans, khakis, or black), and then pick a color family for the tops (everyone in their favorite blue and/or white top, etc.). You can do one or two colors and mix and match so everyone looks their best and has their own personality show, but don't go too crazy with clashing colors. Patterns are fine, but keep it subtle.
  • Keep the style of your home in mind when choosing colors for your outfits. Is your home decorated in jewel tones? You probably don’t want a big portrait on your wall that screams bright playhouse colors. The same thing goes for if you are doing holiday cards--if you want a red and green themed card, do not wear blue and orange.
  • Make sure to arrive DRESSED and READY to go.
  • Sessions will be around 5-10 minutes long, each--the perfect amount of time to catch several really fun expressions and poses.
  • Sessions are scheduled back to back--make sure to be ON TIME and ready to go, in respect to others who may come after you. We will be doing our very best to not run behind!
  • When you arrive, check in with my assistant and follow directions on where to wait or go. We ask that everyone be respectful, QUIET and to keep their distance from any on-going sessions while waiting for your turn.
  • There are plenty of amazing spots on site, so it's definitely not needed, but feel free to bring ONE fun prop to the session, if you wish. It could be something like a big chalk board that says "Our Family 2024" or a wooden sign with “Happy Holidays!" or whatever you dream up.
  • Session images will be posted to an online gallery for you within a week of your session. Keep an eye out for an email that will have your gallery link and password. If you are doing holiday cards, you will have a questionnaire emailed to you after session day to get all the details confirmed for those.
